PRO TIP: BALANCED STRENGTH MADE EASY

As a coach, you understand the importance of measuring progress to drive success. After all, you can only move what you measure. That’s where Fitness Monitoring Exercises (FMEs) come in…

Program Design Pro Tip: Structural Balance with Fitness Monitoring Exercises

FMEs are a powerful feature that can revolutionize the way you track your clients' fitness journey and identify areas of focus. While you can geek out and build custom FMEs for different populations, CoachRx makes it simple to get started with standard Resistance FMEs.

These FMEs integrate with our Structural Balance feature which is designed to ensure your clients have balanced strength in the six functional movement patterns: Squat, Bend, Lunge, Push, Pull and Core.

Balanced= within 5% of goal
Over Goal= more than 5% over the goal
Under Goal= less than 5% under the goal
Here’s a cheat sheet of all resistance structural balance FMEs, along with their goals. Note that we’ve added dynamic strength speed FMEs here for advanced clients that perform these lifts for their sport, competition, or otherwise. For gen pop clients, you’ll stick with simpler exercises that they’re capable of performing.

Here's how to use FMEs to elevate your program design systems

  1. Decide which FMEs you want to test with your client [As a rule, start with motor control, then strength endurance (6-8RMs), then max contractions (1RMs)]
  2. Assign the exercises in their workout and click the “Link FME” to ensure their result populates in the FME chart.
  3. Click the “Fitness Monitoring” icon in the calendar sidebar, click into “Resistance”, and click “View Structural Balance” to see which movement patterns your client needs to prioritize.
