What is the Lifestyle Rx feature?

With the Lifestyle planning feature, you can prescribe personalized daily to-dos ranging from water intake to protein goals to their amount of sleep.

The client receives a daily Lifestyle To-Do - a Yes or No Rx which they can mark off based on whether or not they completed the action. In addition to checking it off, they can leave you additional comments and upload relevant photos or videos. 

The intention of each Lifestyle Rx is not for your client to track it forever, but to help them establish a new behavior and reinforce it until it becomes a habit.

How to use LifestyleRx

Designing lifestyle plans is not meant to be a week-to-week effort on your part. Look at designing lifestyle plans as creating great habits with your clients. Don’t get this confused as a “set it and forget it” task in CoachRx. Rather, set it, check in on it weekly, and refine at each monthly consultation.

Accessing the Lifestyle Calendar

To begin using the feature:

  1. Navigate to your client’s calendar in CoachRx.

  2. At the top, select the Lifestyle Calendar tab.

How to Add a Lifestyle Prescription

  1. Click the broccoli icon on the client’s calendar.

  2. Select “Add Lifestyle” — this opens a dropdown of all the pre-populated lifestyle types from your Index.

  3. Choose a lifestyle type (e.g., "Water Intake").

  4. Enter the target value — for example, 100 oz of water daily.

  5. Optionally, add a range (e.g., ±10 oz).

  6. Set a reminder:

    1. Choose the day(s) and time.

    2. Select the recurrence: daily, every other day, weekly, or weekdays. (example: Daily at 8 p.m. for 4 weeks)

  7. Click “Save Prescription” to finalize. Your prescription will now appear on the client’s calendar for the duration you selected.

  8. Adding Additional Lifestyle Prescriptions

    1. Click “Add Rx” to assign another lifestyle behavior.

    2. Use the search bar to find previous lifestyle prescriptions (by keyword or history).

    3. You can filter results by “everyone” or just “this client” to speed up the process.

  9. Customizing Lifestyle Types in the Index, go to the Index section of CoachRx.From here, you can:

    1. Add new lifestyle types.

    2. Customize descriptions and instructions.

    3. Choose what to track:

      1. Quality, Count, Time, Yes/Nom, Time of Day

      2. Set a default reminder time.

      3. Preview how it will appear in the client's mobile app.

      4. Once saved, these custom lifestyle types will be available for all clients moving forward.

    4. Client View Preview: As you build and assign lifestyle prescriptions, you’ll be able to preview exactly how it will show up in your client’s CoachRx app — ensuring clarity and accountability for both coach and client.

6 tips to design the best Lifestyle Rx

  1. Customize your Lifestyle Types to match your coaching style (you can even add personalized videos to educate your clients on the specific behavior).

  2. Monitor Lifestyle compliance % on your Dashboard. 

  3. Click the “Exercise” and “Lifestyle” toggle at the top of the client calendar to switch to views.

  4. Limit yourself to a maximum of 3 Lifestyle Rx’s per client to avoid overwhelm.

  5. Prioritize the lowest hanging fruit first and avoid overprescribing—if your client is sleeping 5 hours a night and low on water then start there before prescribing macros or pre-workout nutrition!

  6. Update client plans on a monthly basis (use their monthly consultation to discuss the previous month and set new Rx’s).
